# Pricing and checkout

> Plans, 7-day trial, checkout on melophrase.com, taxes, cancellations, and payment partner — aligned with the public pricing page.

Subscriptions and one-off purchases are completed **on the website**, not inside every screen of the app. The public page is **[melophrase.com/pricing](https://www.melophrase.com/pricing)** — always open that page for **current prices** and button labels; amounts below are what the site is built around today and may change.

## Free trial when you subscribe on the web

The pricing page is built around a **7-day free trial** on subscription options: you are **not charged until after your free trial ends** (the page states this clearly next to the main call to action). You must **log in** (or **create an account**) to continue to checkout.

Listening **inside the app** can still follow **separate trial or fair-use rules** (for example daily or time limits) so the product stays fair for everyone. If the app says your trial listening for a period has run out, use the website to **subscribe or change plan** — same idea as in [Free trial and paying for Melophrase](/user-guide/free-trial-and-paying).

## Plans you will see on the pricing page

These names and ideas match the live layout:

* **Annual plan** — Billed once per year; shown as the default choice in the interface, with copy about **CEFR-aligned** bilingual tracks and **time-synced lyrics** for European Portuguese.
* **Monthly plan** — Billed each month while you stay subscribed.
* **Lifetime access** — One payment for long-term access; the page may show an **early-bird** discount compared to a higher “usual” price. Lifetime may not always be offered — if the card is there, the page has the details.

The pricing block also notes **taxes calculated at checkout** and **cancel anytime** (exact cancellation steps and legal conditions are in the [Terms of Service](https://www.melophrase.com/terms)).

## How checkout works (high level)

* **[Lemon Squeezy](https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/)** runs the **checkout**, **payment**, and **subscription billing** you start from our pricing page. They are the **merchant of record**: the charge on your card or bank statement normally shows **Lemon Squeezy** (or a label they use in your country), and they send the **receipt** and **customer portal** links by email.
* Lemon Squeezy collects the **billing details** needed to complete the purchase (for example card, email, and tax address) under their own [privacy policy](https://www.lemonsqueezy.com/privacy). Our [Privacy Policy](https://www.melophrase.com/privacy) explains how that fits next to **Supabase** (accounts and app data).
* Melophrase receives **order and customer information** from Lemon Squeezy so we can **fulfil** your subscription or lifetime purchase and unlock the product.
* After purchase, your **access** in the app should match what you bought. If something looks wrong, email **[support@melophrase.com](mailto:support@melophrase.com)** and include your **order ID** or forward the **Lemon Squeezy receipt** if you can — it speeds things up.
