Thank you

If you are testing Melophrase early: thank you. Your time, patience, and honest notes help us catch problems and improve the app for everyone. We are genuinely grateful.

What we need from you

If you are in the beta, we are relying on you to:
  1. Use the app — try the main flows: sign in, browse the library, play songs, use playlists, and settings where you can.
  2. Report what breaks or confuses you — crashes, wrong behaviour, unclear labels, or anything that stops you learning.
  3. Share honest feedback — what works, what does not, and what you wish existed.
Your feedback directly shapes what we fix and build next.

How to give feedback

Email michael@melophrase.com with notes, screenshots, or screen recordings. Be as specific as you can: what you tapped, what you expected, and what happened instead.

The music

The aim of the app is to provide music that sticks in your head and helps you learn a language. We are not trying to get to number 1 in the charts. There are lots of ways to do that — bilingual or monolingual tracks, different speeds, different styles, more or less repetition, and so on. We do not think we have found the perfect formula yet, and that is exactly where your feedback helps. Tell us what lands and what does not: too repetitive, too fast, hard to follow, not memorable, wrong style for learning, and anything else about how the songs feel as a learning tool.

How the app works

Beyond the music, we need your take on how the app actually functions. Is it easy to navigate? Slow in places? Clunky, messy, or confusing? Does anything get in the way when you are trying to listen and learn?

Sign-up and sign-in

Is registration or login confusing — on the website, in the app, or both? If something felt unclear or broken, say where you were and what you saw.

CEFR levels

We organise content around CEFR levels (A1 through C2). Does that framing feel right for how you learn, or would you structure it differently? We are open to honest views on whether CEFR is the right anchor for Melophrase.

Known issues

Sign-in redirect (Supabase URL)

Some users see a Supabase-hosted URL during part of the sign-in flow (for example after Sign in with Google). This is expected for now:
  • It will be addressed once the project is on a live production setup with full control over auth branding and redirects.
  • We are currently on a free-tier database/auth configuration where you cannot change that URL to your own branding.
  • This is only noticeable to people who use Sign in with Google (other sign-in methods may not show the same redirect).
Google sign-in screen showing the Supabase project URL instead of Melophrase branding We are tracking this and will tighten the experience when we move to production auth settings.

Lyric and audio sync

Sometimes lyrics and audio are not perfectly in sync — the highlighted words may lag behind the music, jump ahead, or catch up after a moment. This can vary by device, browser, or connection. Lyrics highlighting lagging behind the audio during playback We are actively working to improve sync reliability. If you notice it, note which song, where you were listening (app or web), and what the lyrics did compared to what you heard — that helps us fix it faster.
